You need to upgrade to the Elite plan to use this feature.

Want to deliver a fully branded experience to your customers?

If you're on an Elite plan, not only can you add your own branding for your video landing pages, but you can also add your custom domain.

By default, all video landing page URLs begin with video.vuleads.com followed by a slug: a unique ID made up of letters and numbers.

If you add a custom domain, you will replace "video.vuleads.com" with your own URL. However, the slug will not change.

Step 1: Add your subdomain to Vuleads

Log in to your Vuleads account and click on "Settings" in the left sidebar.

You will see 3 tabs: Details, Team and Branding. Click on the "Branding" tab.

Enter your subdomain in the Custom Domain field.

Note: Your URL should be a subdomain. For example: videos.yourdomain.com

Click "Save changes".

Step 2: Create a CNAME record in your domain provider

Creating a CNAME (Canonical Name) record is a fundamental step in configuring DNS settings to direct a subdomain to a specific destination. In this step, we'll walk you through the process of creating a CNAME record that points to video.vuleads.com. This is particularly useful when you want to associate a subdomain of your domain with Vuleads' video hosting services.

Prerequisites: Before you begin, ensure you have access to your domain registrar's control panel or DNS management platform. For this example, we'll illustrate the process using GoDaddy as the domain registrar.

Log in to Your Domain Registrar's Control Panel

Sign in to your GoDaddy Domain Portfolio using your login credentials.

Access DNS Settings

Once logged in, locate your domain for which you want to create the CNAME record.

Next to your domain, you should see a three-dot icon or similar domain edit options. Click on it and then select "Edit DNS." Depending on your registrar, this option might be labeled differently, but it typically refers to DNS or Domain Management.

Create a New DNS Record

In the DNS management panel, look for the option to "Add New Record" or similar wording. This is where you'll add your CNAME record.

Choose the CNAME Record Type

Select "CNAME" from the Type menu. This specifies that you're creating a Canonical Name record.

Configure the CNAME Record

You'll need to enter the following details for your CNAME record:

  • Name: This is the subdomain you want to create, for example, "videos" if you want to create a subdomain like "videos.yourdomain.com."
  • Value: Enter "video.vuleads.com" as the destination to which your subdomain will point.

Save Your CNAME Record

You may have additional options such as TTL (Time to Live) settings, which determine how long the DNS information will be cached before refreshing. The default setting is usually sufficient for most cases.

Verify and Save

Double-check the details you've entered to ensure accuracy.

Finally, click "Save" or the equivalent option provided by your registrar to add your new CNAME record.

Wait for DNS Propagation

Keep in mind that DNS changes may take some time to propagate across the internet. While most changes become effective within an hour, it can take up to 48 hours to update globally.

Conclusion

By following these steps, you've successfully created a CNAME record pointing your subdomain to video.vuleads.com. This configuration allows you to associate your subdomain with Vuleads' video hosting services seamlessly.
